Making sure homeless family won't go without: Gifts a first for some kids staying in shelters

Don and Mildred Taylor are homeless and don't have enough moneyto buy Christmas gifts for their four kids.

But their children still will have presents to open on ChristmasEve, thanks to the generosity of strangers.

The Taylors are staying at It Takes A Village shelter, 544 W.123rd, one of seven Inner Voice shelters for homeless families.Shelter children will be receiving Christmas gifts donated by theSun-Times Season of Sharing program and other charities.

Thirteen-year-old Carnell Taylor wants an Uno Attack card game.His 9-year-old sister, Keala, wants a Barbie doll. Two-year-old DonJr. wants a Nerf ball and baby Dion might get a teddy bear. …
